Who are the people behind the DISCO?
We would like to introduce you to some of our colleagues - the driving force behind our mowers whose passion and dedication has made our DISCO what it is today.
Movement champion.
The CLAAS range of DISCO CONTOUR rear mowers provides suitable machines for all farms and agricultural businesses. This efficient all-rounder has a central pivoting attachment, ensuring perfect ground-contour following in all models. The 120° road transport position also makes the machine compact and safe on the road. Whether you are farming 200 or 2000 acres, there is a DISCO CONTOUR rear-mounted mower to get the best out of your fields.
Pivot from above.
With its two pivoting points, the DISCO CONTOUR mower is able to adapt perfectly to slopes and angles for clean-cut free of dirt contamination. The mower can swivel up 23 degrees and down 17 degrees completely independent of any tractor movements. Also, the ACTIVE FLOAT hydropneumatic suspension allows fine-tuning of the ground pressure while mowing over hilltops or down through ditches. This results in minimal ash content in the mown crop and reduced wear on the mower.
Collision protection.
All DISCO rear mowers have mechanical break-back protection consisting of a rubber spring and robust pawl that disengage in the event of a collision. The mower head pivots rearwards 25 degrees and 15 degrees upwards on the inclined pivot point to overcome stationary objects. This eliminates or reduces costly damage from collisions. The system is reactivated by simply backing the machine up.
Crop discharge.
DISCO CONTOUR mowers without conditioners have a standard spring-loaded and pivoting swath disc. This keeps cut crop out of standing material for a cleaner cut and consistently shaped windrows. A swath plate or additional swath disc can be added to some models to narrow the windrow further. Mowers with conditioners have a crop spreading hood (not shown).
Secure transport.
A mechanical lock system holds the mower securely in place during transport but also acts as the limiting stop when lifting at headlands. This transport lock is rope operated on most models or can optionally be hydraulically operated. The 120 degrees transport position centers the mower's weight on the rear tires and as far forward as possible. This transport position and center of gravity location close to the tractor provide outstanding stability, for safety and ease of handling on the road. The folded DISCO 4400 achieves the 13' 1" transport height by leaning the mower back (shown) while retaining operator visibility and transport stability.
